About the USB MiniBase
The USB MiniBase connects directly to a USB port on a PC or a laptop.
It is powered by the USB port and does not need a separate AC adapter. The
range of the USB MiniBase is up to 100 feet while the the MiniStation is 300
feet. The USB MiniBase can only operate as a Base unit, while the
MiniStation can operate as a Base or a Remote unit. The USB MiniBase uses
the same setup and test software as the MiniStation.
You can have several USB MiniBases adjacent to each other, and each USB MiniBase will only receive the data from MiniStation Remotes and Universal Mobile Modules that have been associated with the USB MiniBase.
As in all of our GageWay interfaces, the output to the PC from the USB MiniBase consists of user-definable ASCII strings. Virtually all SPC/DAQ programs readily accept this type of ASCII input string.
In order to use a Universal Mobile Module with the USB MiniBase, you must associate the Universal Mobile Module with the USB MiniBase. When you press the reset button on the USB MiniBase, you can quickly associate Universal Mobile Modules on the factory floor. You do not need to run a special setup program to perform this association.
