When a beverage producer in Mexico needs to pull measurement data off the floor and into an SPC system without an operator hand-keying every reading, the conversation often starts the same way: an Atrya Plast engineer is already on-site, walking the line.
Atrya Plast has been MicroRidge’s partner in Mexico for years, and the way they work is the reason the partnership succeeds. They don’t wait for a purchase order to arrive. They identify the opportunity on the floor, demonstrate the solution in the customer’s own environment, and engineer the connection. Atrya Plast S.A. de C.V. is a Mexican company founded in 2003, headquartered in Mexico City. With more than 20 years in the market, they provide integrated quality-control testing solutions across the beverage, food, pharmaceutical, and plastics industries, from design and manufacturing through commercialization and full technical support, meeting international standards.
Their reach is substantial: a catalog of over 1,200 instruments, partnerships with leading test-equipment brands, and a customer base that includes names like Pepsi and Jugos del Valle. They operate their own calibration laboratory, Atrya Lab, giving their customers a single source for both measurement equipment and the calibration traceability that quality systems depend on.
That combination of equipment, integration, calibration, and on-the-ground engineering is what makes Atrya more than a distributor. They are a quality-solutions partner for some of the most demanding production environments in Mexico.
Atrya’s approach to MicroRidge is consultative, not transactional. Rather than waiting for customers to request a wireless data collection system by name, Atrya’s team identifies the opportunity during customer site visits, and in most cases offers an on-site demonstration so the customer can see exactly how the system fits their workflow before they commit.
That difference matters. A customer who has watched MicroRidge pull live measurements from their own gages, on their own line, isn’t evaluating a product brochure. They’re evaluating something they’ve already seen work in their environment. It’s a sales approach that only works when the partner has the technical confidence to set up a live demo on unfamiliar equipment, which Atrya does.
When a customer is weighing options, two factors consistently tip the decision toward MicroRidge, according to Atrya’s team.
The first is support. Customers trust the technical support Atrya provides: local, responsive, and in Spanish. The hardware matters, but the confidence that someone will answer the phone and solve the problem matters just as much in a production environment where downtime is expensive.
The second is a technical distinction that quality engineers in industrial environments understand well: Bluetooth is often seen as a vulnerable technology for the plant floor. RF congestion, security concerns, and connection reliability in dense, electrically noisy environments make consumer-grade wireless a risky foundation for measurement data. MicroRidge’s RM2.4 protocol, built on the IEEE 802.15.4 industrial wireless standard, was designed for exactly these conditions. For a customer collecting quality data they’ll defend in an audit, protocol reliability isn’t a feature. It’s a requirement.

The clearest example of how Atrya works came in the glass bottling industry.
A customer needed to capture measurement data across all of the inspection modules on a production line. The challenge was a Mitutoyo counter on an optical comparator: the customer needed to extract measurements from two axes (X and Y), taken at different times, using a single button for both.
Off-the-shelf wouldn’t solve it. Atrya’s engineering team developed a custom cable to connect the Mitutoyo counter to MicroRidge’s RS-232 Remote transmitter, which connects to any RS-232 device with the correct RX and TX pin locations. The result was a working data collection solution built around the customer’s exact measurement workflow, not a compromise around the limitations of standard equipment.
This is the pattern across Atrya’s MicroRidge work: they routinely use MicroRidge technology as a departure point to develop communication systems for specific equipment and SPC software. The transmitter is the platform; Atrya’s engineering is what adapts it to the problem in front of them.
Atrya’s first market is the beverage industry, and that remains the strongest source of demand for gage data collection. But MicroRidge systems reach across nearly every industry Atrya serves. Most deployments land in the QC lab, where measurement data feeds the quality system and the demand for accurate, traceable, button-press data capture is highest.
For Mexico’s beverage, glass, PET, and pharmaceutical producers, many operating under international quality standards and supplying multinational brands, the combination of MicroRidge hardware and Atrya’s local engineering and support is a practical path to modernizing data collection without importing a support gap along with the equipment.
One of the questions prospective customers ask most often is how the logistics work when the manufacturer is in the United States and the customer is in Mexico. Atrya has the process down to a routine.
When a customer places a purchase order, Atrya places the corresponding order with MicroRidge and manages the import of the requested parts once they’re ready. Typical lead time runs six to eight weeks, following the same proven process Atrya uses across all of its product lines. For commonly requested parts, Atrya maintains local stock in Mexico so it can supply spares quickly; larger projects are ordered per PO to match the specific configuration the customer needs.
The result for the customer is a single local point of contact who manages the entire flow: order, import, delivery, installation, and ongoing support, in their own language and time zone.
The MicroRidge-Atrya partnership continues to evolve alongside the equipment their customers use. As laboratory instruments increasingly adopt USB-C connectivity, that’s a direction Atrya sees value in for future transmitter designs, exactly the kind of field feedback that keeps the partnership and the product line moving forward.
