The DC Wireless Connector for Mitutoyo 06AGL111 gages is the hardware link between your Mitutoyo QuantuMike Micrometer and the MobileCollect Wireless automated measurement collection system. The QuantuMike communicates via the Digimatic D2 protocol, which is supported by the Command Mobile Module running firmware 5.35 or newer. Unlike the Mini Mobile Module EVO (M3E), the Command Mobile Module enables bi-directional wireless communication — readings are commanded remotely by the MobileCollect Base or your SPC software, with no operator touchpoint at the gage required.
With the Command Mobile Module, the read cycle is controlled upstream. Read commands are issued by your SPC software via serial output to the Base Receiver, or triggered by a foot switch, hand switch, or wireless remote switch connected to the Base. The Base transmits the request wirelessly to the Command Mobile Module, which triggers the gage and immediately returns the measurement data — all without any operator action at the gage.
This architecture eliminates the human touchpoint in the measurement loop, directly reducing transcription error risk and supporting tighter SPC control limits. The Base can also request single or multiple readings per command cycle and issue sleep commands to extend battery life — all configurable from your host PC or application.
The Mitutoyo QuantuMike is known for its rapid 2mm/rev spindle travel, making it one of the fastest micrometers for production measurement. This DC connector matches that production focus by eliminating the data entry bottleneck — measurements go from spindle to SPC software wirelessly and automatically, keeping pace with high-throughput workflows. With the Command Mobile Module, readings are triggered remotely by your SPC software or a read switch at the operator station, so the measurement cycle never waits on an operator reaching the gage.
The 06AGL111 cable is designed for the MDE QuantuMike’s IP65-rated housing, maintaining dust and water jet protection at the data connection point. If your measurement workflow involves micrometers exposed to coolant, oil, or cutting fluids on the shop floor, this connector preserves that environmental protection while adding automated wireless data transmission capability. The Command Mobile Module transmitter itself is not IP rated, but we see very few failures in the field in wet environments. The most common issue over time is that certain cutting fluids and industrial chemicals can cause the cable to become brittle with prolonged exposure. The Digital Remote provides two-way communication similar to the Command Mobile Module but over a wired connection — ideal for stationary measurement stations. Also compatible with all GageWay wired gage interfaces.
The Command Mobile Module (DC) supports both automated, remotely commanded reads and manual operator-initiated reads via its built-in read button — so it can do everything the M3E does, plus remote automation. The tradeoff is form factor: the DC is larger than the M3E to accommodate the higher-capacity battery required to sustain remote-triggered read cycles. If your application only requires operator-initiated reads at the gage and a compact transmitter profile is a priority, the Mini Mobile Module EVO (M3E) is the right transmitter for that use case.

Whether your shop floor runs Mitutoyo calipers alongside Mahr micrometers, Starrett indicators, or Fowler height gages, MobileCollect connects them all into a single wireless SPC data network.
