The Mahr Federal 4346021 is Mahr Federal’s Digimatic SPC data cable for a broad range of instruments equipped with the 4-pin female SPC output port — available as an accessory for Digimar height gages, MarCator indicators, Millimess comparators, and µMaxum II gages. It outputs in Mitutoyo Digimatic format, allowing direct connection to any GageWay wired interface or MobileCollect Digital Remote for automated SPC data collection.
This is not a standalone product. The 4346021 cable terminates at a gage interface — a GageWay or Digital Remote sits between the cable and your computer and is required to pass data to any SPC software or collection application. The 4346021 cable is the standard connection cable for the full GageWay wired interface product line. GageWay interfaces support the Mitutoyo Digimatic output natively — no baud rate configuration or communication parameters required. Plug the 4346021 into the gage input port on your GageWay, connect the interface to your PC via USB, and the gage is online.
GageWay Pro2, Pro4, Pro8 — Multi-channel interfaces supporting 2, 4, or 8 gages simultaneously via a single USB connection. Both USB keyboard wedge and USB serial outputs are built in. The Pro series includes configurable read switch ports, data parsing, TIR measurement modes, and AutoBaud detection for RS-232 devices. Best fit for fixed inspection stations, multi-gage measurement cells, and control plan implementations under ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or AS9100D where measurement traceability and process integration requirements are defined.
GageWay SM — Single-gage interface with USB serial output. Outputs to any SPC application monitoring a COM port. Pre-configured for Mitutoyo Digimatic gages — plug-and-play with no parameter setup.
GageWay KW — Single-gage interface with keyboard wedge output. Sends measurement data as keystrokes into Excel, cloud-based SPC platforms, or any application that accepts keyboard input.
Note: The 4346021 is available in 1-meter length only.
The original Mahr Federal µMaxum uses a 7-pin connector — not the 4-pin female used by the µMaxum II and the other gage families on this page. The 4346021 will not connect to the original µMaxum. The 4346021 is also compatible with the MobileCollect Digital Remote for installations where the gage is stationary and wired into a MobileCollect system rather than a standalone GageWay interface. The Digital Remote provides two-way Digimatic communication — it can receive measurement data from the gage and initiate readings remotely, similar in function to the Command Mobile Module but over a wired connection.
This configuration is most applicable for fixed measurement stations integrated into a larger MobileCollect Wireless network, where the gage itself doesn’t move but the data still needs to route through the MobileCollect infrastructure. For the majority of single-station or multi-station wired setups, a GageWay interface is the more direct and cost-effective path.
