RS-232 interface cable for Fowler, Sylvac, and other gages that use the Duplex Opto serial interface. Connects the gage’s Duplex Opto output port to a DB9 host interface for two-way communication — the host can issue a data request to the gage instead of relying on a button press at the instrument. Compatible with WedgeLink AT, WedgeLink SP, MobileCollect RS-232 Remote, and GageWay Pro (Level Converter Cable required for GageWay Pro front channels). When paired with any of the above, measurement data outputs as keystrokes or USB serial — ready for direct input to SPC software or any data collection application.
Duplex or Simplex? These cables are not interchangeable. The Duplex Opto and Simplex Opto ports use the same physical connector but different pin assignments — a simplex cable on a duplex gage will not communicate. If your gage is a Simplex Opto instrument, order the 54-115-333 instead.

The 54-115-336 RS-232 cable connects the Duplex Opto serial output port of your Fowler, Sylvac, or other compatible gage to a data collection host — eliminating manual transcription of measurement readings and enabling direct output to SPC software, inspection databases, or any application that accepts RS-232 serial data.
The gage-side connector mates with the Duplex Opto data output port on the instrument. The host side terminates in a DB9 female connector, compatible with WedgeLink keyboard wedges, MobileCollect RS-232 Remote wireless transmitters, and GageWay Pro wired interfaces.
Unlike the Simplex Opto interface, which sends data one way from the gage to the host, the Duplex Opto interface is bidirectional. The host can issue a data request command to the gage, so readings can be triggered from the collection point rather than from a button on the instrument — useful for fixtured, automated, or operator-paced inspection stations where reaching the gage is impractical.
