The 54-115-527 Proximity Connector RS-232 cable connects the serial output port of calipers, micrometers, and other instruments using the Proximity connector to a data collection host — eliminating manual transcription of measurement readings and enabling direct output to SPC software, inspection databases, or any application that accepts RS-232 serial data.
The gage-side connector mates with the Proximity output port on the instrument. The host side terminates in a DB9 male connector, compatible with WedgeLink keyboard wedges, MobileCollect RS-232 Remote wireless transmitters, and GageWay Pro wired interfaces.
The Proximity connector interface is used across several gage manufacturers. If your caliper, micrometer, or other instrument uses the Proximity connector, this cable is compatible regardless of brand. Common brands include Fowler and Sylvac, among others.

WedgeLink AT / WedgeLink SP — WedgeLink keyboard wedge technology translates the Proximity connector RS-232 serial output into keystrokes, sending measurement readings directly into Excel, SPC software, or any application that accepts keyboard input — no software integration required. Auto baud rate detection simplifies setup; data parsing handles the native instrument output format.
MobileCollect RS-232 Remote — For wireless data collection without cable runs between the gage and the collection point, the RS-232 Remote pairs with this cable to transmit measurement readings wirelessly over MobileCollect’s RM2.4 proprietary protocol. 133-foot wireless range, encrypted, and resilient to RF noise common in industrial inspection environments.
GageWay Pro — Connects to the GageWay Pro via the multifunction serial port or the front gage channels (Level Converter Cable GW-LC required for front channels). The GageWay Pro provides USB serial and USB keyboard wedge output alongside its DB9 port, with configurable read modes (single, continuous, TIR) and data parsing for complex instrument output strings.
